About the role

STR is seeking a highly motivated candidate with federal procurement experience to join our growing Contracts & Supply Chain team as a Senior Procurement Administrator.

In this role, you will:

Oversee strategic procurement operations across defense and government programs

Serve as a subject matter expert on complex DoD and Intelligence Community supply chain matters

Mentor and develop team members

Drive process excellence and continuous improvement in procurement practices

Help shape STR’s procurement strategy and deliver measurable results in cost, schedule, and performance

Responsibilities

Manage the full procurement lifecycle from planning through closeout in accordance with company policies, FAR, and DFARS.

Work closely with business, technical, and functional stakeholders to support business growth objectives and strong program performance.

Develop and maintain effective external relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to support program objectives and strengthen STR’s business partnerships.

Conduct market research, supplier qualification, source selection, and cost/price reasonableness evaluations.

Utilize purchasing and ERP systems to create and manage purchase orders and ensure compliance.

Maintain accurate and complete procurement files and documentation in compliance with FAR, DFARS, and company requirements.

Experience using AI‑enabled tools and a strong willingness to learn and apply AI to drive efficiency and improve quality and effectiveness in Contracts and Supply Chain processes.

Recommend and help implement process improvements to scale and optimize procurement activities and practices.

Communicate effectively with internal customers, partners, and stakeholders; respond promptly to inquiries regarding order status, changes, and returns.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of Federal procurement, purchasing, or contracting experience (or Master's degree + 3 years)

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (for which US Citizenship is required)

Demonstrated experience in negotiations and supplier management.

Experience with FAR, DFARS, and agency‑specific regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply federal acquisition policies in context.

Knowledge of ITAR/EAR export controls and counterfeit parts prevention practices.

Collaborative, self‑motivated, and efficient, with strong business judgment and analytical skills; interest in optimizing procurement and contracting practices while maintaining compliance.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with customers, partners, and colleagues at all levels.

Willingness to expertise across other areas of Supply Chain as well as Contracts.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $93,000.00 - $117,000.00

The salary range listed is based on external market data. Offers are based on factors, such as but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, key skills/critical skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
