Front Desk Customer Service – Dog Daycare
About the role
Are You the Person at Work Who Just Gets Things Done?
You know the type.
Something needs to be done, so they do it.
A customer has a question, so they figure out the answer.
They notice the little mistake before it turns into a big one.
When things get busy, everyone else seems to get scattered - but somehow they're still keeping track of everything.
And their manager doesn't have to give them a new instruction every ten minutes.
If you're that person, we'd really like to talk to you.
The Wags Club is an established cage-free dog daycare and boarding facility serving Santa Monica and West Los Angeles, and we're looking for someone exceptional to join our front desk team.
You don't need years of receptionist experience.
You don't need to have worked at a dog daycare.
But you do need to be someone other people can count on.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Our front desk is where our clients, their dogs, and our pet-care team all come together.
You'll be responsible for:
Greeting clients and getting to know our regulars and their dogs
Checking dogs in and out accurately
Answering phones and client questions
Managing reservations and client information
Processing payments
Learning our daycare, boarding, and grooming services
Making sure feeding, medication, and special instructions reach the right people
Keeping the front desk and lobby organized
Assisting with dog photos and occasional social media updates
But a list of duties doesn't really explain what makes someone good at this job.
Here's What Does
Imagine there are three clients at the desk.
One is picking up. One has a question. One is dropping off a dog with special instructions.
The phone rings.
Meanwhile, you notice something on a reservation doesn't look right.
Can you keep track of all of it without getting flustered?
Can you be genuinely friendly to the clients while still moving things along?
Can you remember the thing you need to check once you've finished helping the person standing in front of you?
Can you notice something that needs doing without waiting for a manager to point it out?
If your answer is yes, we're much more interested in that than whether your last job had "receptionist" in the title.
