Dog Daycare Front Desk / Pet Care Receptionist
About the role
You Already Know They're
More Than "Just Dogs."
If you've worked in pet care, you already understand something that can't really be taught in an employee handbook.
You understand why a client wants to explain exactly how their dog ate last night. Why a medication instruction can't be "close enough." Why remembering a dog's personality matters. And why pet parents want to know that the person on the other side of the desk actually cares.
That's exactly the kind of person we want at our front desk.
The Wags Club is an established cage-free dog daycare and boarding facility serving Santa Monica and West Los Angeles, and we're looking for a friendly, organized professional to join our front desk team.
If you have experience in dog daycare, boarding, veterinary care, grooming, pet retail, or another animal-care environment, we'd especially like to hear from you.
You'll Be the Connection Between Our Clients and Care Team
This isn't just a receptionist position.
The information coming through our front desk affects what happens throughout our facility.
You'll:
Greet pet parents and their dogs by name
Handle daily check-ins and check-outs
Make sure feeding, medication, and special-care instructions are communicated accurately
Answer client questions about their dogs and our services
Manage reservations and client information
Process payments
Explain daycare, boarding, and grooming options to new clients
Communicate continuously with our pet-care team
Help identify missing or conflicting information before it causes a problem
Keep the lobby and front desk organized
Assist with dog photos and occasional social media updates
What Makes Someone Great at This Job?
Our best front desk people don't just complete transactions.
They know their clients and dogs.
They can have several things happening at once and still remember that one dog has medication instructions that need clarification.
They notice something hasn't been done and take care of it.
They look for an answer before automatically handing every question to a manager.
And they understand that when someone leaves their dog with us, they're trusting us with a member of their family.
We're looking for someone who is:
Warm and confident with clients
Extremely detail-oriented
Comfortable in a busy environment
Self-motivated
Resourceful and willing to solve problems
Reliable and punctual
Comfortable with dogs of every breed and size
Able to communicate clearly with both clients and coworkers
Compensation & Benefits
$19–$21 per hour, depending on experience
Medical, dental, and vision insurance after probation
Complimentary daycare or boarding for your own dog
Year-round employment
Opportunity to grow within The Wags Club
Come Work Somewhere Dogs Are Actually the Business
At The Wags Club, dogs aren't an occasional office perk.
They're why we're here.
If you already love working in pet care but you're especially good with the people on the other end of the slip lead, you may be exactly who we're looking for.
