Strategic Supply Chain Manager, Amazon

DESCRIPTION

The Amazon US Consumer Electronics organization is looking for a supply chain manager for their Home Entertainment GL. Candidates should possess a proven record of driving operational process improvements and thought leadership in inventory planning and operations.

The supply chain manager will have end-to-end business ownership of all supply chain processes from manufacturer to customer. They will be responsible for establishing and driving inventory management strategies to maximize customer experience, while optimizing sales, margin and turns. They will use data to influence key decisions and business partners, as well as build sustainable and scalable systems & processes. The supply chain manager will play a critical role in delivering optimal customer experience by ensuring Amazon has the right product quantities, in the right places, and at the right time. To achieve this mission, they will work to continuously optimize the end-to-end supply chain by partnering with the vendor management team and, at times, working directly with vendors to improve instock metrics. Through their SMEships, the supply chain manager will work cross-functionally across Home Entertainment org and with Amazon central teams to drive system and process automations that are sustainable and scalable. The successful candidate is a highly organized self-starter, an effective team player, a critical thinker who has sound business judgement, and someone who possesses strong data extraction and analytical capabilities. They are able to self-manage competing priorities and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong candidates will have knowledge in fundamental business principles and previous relevant experience. The ideal candidate is able to lead and influence both internal and external teams in an ambiguous environment while maintaining a customer-centric philosophy.

Key job responsibilities

Identify and deliver operational improvement opportunities around buying and demand planning.

Monitor and identify opportunities to improve key supply chain metrics such as Out of Stock rate, Overstock Rate, Total Inbound Lead Time, Delivery Speed, and Confirmation/Fill Rates.

Share supply chain insights and contribute to business reviews for Senior Leadership (verbal and written).

Identify opportunities to optimize our supply chain cost structure and profitability through vendor engagement, project management, and collaboration with partner teams on system improvements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of with Excel experience

3+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience

Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control

Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

Experience with SQL

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
