Marketing Manager
About the role
At its core, this is a sales position. You aren't just waiting for the phone to ring; you are actively hunting for new business.
Lead Generation: Proactively reaching out to corporate HR departments, wedding planners, and local organizations to secure bookings.
Site Inspections: Conducting tours of the venue to showcase layout options and capabilities.
Contract Negotiation: Drafting proposals, negotiating menu prices, and ensuring all legal and financial terms (deposits, cancellation policies) are signed.
Market Analysis: Keeping an eye on competitors’ pricing and trending menu items to stay ahead in the local market.
2. Event Planning & Coordination
Once the contract is signed, the "Planning" hat comes on. You ensure the client’s expectations are translated into actionable instructions for the staff.
Menu Engineering: Working with the Executive Chef to design custom menus that fit the client's budget and dietary needs.
BEO Creation: Writing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) - the "bible" for an event that details everything from the number of forks to the exact time the steak is served.
Vendor Management: Coordinating with third-party vendors like florists, AV technicians, and decorators.
3. Administrative & Financial Oversight
Success in this role is measured by the bottom line. You have to be organized and data-driven.
Forecasting: Predicting monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Budget Management: Ensuring the event remains profitable by monitoring food costs and labor hours.
CRM Maintenance: Keeping meticulous records of client preferences and past events to encourage repeat business.
4. On-Site Execution
While there is usually a Banquet Manager for the "heavy lifting," the Sales Manager often stays present for the start of the event to ensure a smooth hand-off.
Client Liaison: Acting as the primary point of contact for the host to handle last-minute "emergencies" or changes.
Quality Control: Checking the room setup and food presentation against the BEO before the guests arrive.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
Benefits:
Commuter assistance
Flexible schedule
Work Location: In person
