Job Description: Educator – Computational Thinking, AI & Robotics (Grades 4–10)

Position Overview This role is responsible for leading the implementation of a progressive, technology-enabled curriculum that transitions students from foundational problem-solving to advanced technological applications. The educator will guide younger students (Grades 4–5) through unplugged, logic-based activities and progressively introduce middle and high school students (Grades 6–10) to coding, robotics hardware, and AI project lifecycles.

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

Curriculum Delivery & Progression

Execute a progressive curriculum aligned with NEP 2020 and current board frameworks (such as the CBSE 2026–27 CT & AI mandate).

Grades 4–5: Facilitate foundational Computational Thinking (CT) - covering Decomposition, Pattern Recognition, Abstraction, and Algorithmic Thinking - heavily utilizing unplugged activities and game-based learning.

Grades 6–8: Introduce basic Artificial Intelligence domains (Computer Vision, NLP, Data Science), visual/block-based coding, and introductory robotics.

Grades 9–10: Drive advanced skill development through Python programming, the AI project lifecycle, data literacy, and capstone robotics integration.

Interdisciplinary Integration

Collaborate with Mathematics and Science faculty to embed computational thinking problems into standard academic subjects, ensuring technology is taught as a cross-disciplinary problem-solving tool rather than an isolated subject.

Lab Infrastructure Management

Oversee the composite STEM/Robotics lab, ensuring all hardware (microcontrollers, sensors, robotics kits) and software platforms are maintained, accessible, and updated.

Assessment & Portfolio Development

Transition assessment methods from observation checklists and performance tasks in primary grades to structured practical files, viva preparation, and capstone project portfolios in secondary grades.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Curriculum Adherence: 100% completion of the mapped lesson plans and hands-on lab sessions within the academic term.

Student Competency Mastery: At least 85% of students demonstrating grade-level proficiency in algorithmic thinking, coding, or robotics tasks during term assessments.

Project Generation: A minimum of two cross-disciplinary capstone projects conceptualized and developed per class (for Grades 6–10) annually.

Lab Operational Efficiency: Zero unresolved downtime for critical lab hardware or software exceeding 48 hours, alongside 100% inventory compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Educational Technology, or a related field.

Experience: 3+ years of teaching Computer Science, STEM, or Robotics to middle and high school students.

Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Python, block-based coding environments (e.g., Scratch, Blockly), and educational robotics platforms (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi). Familiarity with foundational machine learning models and data visualization tools.

Desired Competencies

Pedagogical Adaptability: The ability to break down complex technological concepts for an 8-year-old just as effectively as a 15-year-old.

Facilitation over Lecturing: A teaching style that prioritizes "safe-to-fail" exploration, guiding students through troubleshooting and debugging rather than simply providing answers.

Ethical Tech Advocacy: Capability to sensitize students to digital responsibility, algorithmic bias, and the ethical implications of AI systems.
