Forklift Operator

Job Description

1. Operates the forklift upon instruction and direction of the Warehouse supervisor/manager.

2. Logs/records forklift operation in an accurate and timely manner in the forklift usage register/logbook.

3. Operates the forklift in a safe and efficient manner in order to prevent damage to the forklift, the goods being handled and to plant properties, as well as to ensure zero accidents/injuries to self and others.

4. Ensures that the forklift is not misused or abused and not operated by unauthorized personnel.

5. Conducts basic equipment and maintenance checks on the forklift before and after use in accordance with a pre-established checklist.

6. Coordinates with Motorpool regarding periodic and regular preventive maintenance (PM) or corrective repairs / rescue of the forklift.

7. Ensures that moving or transporting goods via forklift is done carefully and safely to prevent any damage to goods, warehouse racks/ shelves or the warehouse itself, as well as to prevent injuries to warehouse personnel.

8. Responsible and accountable for inventory losses or damages due to negligent use of the forklift.

9. Ensures that all inventory stock moved and transported by forklift are stored/ stacked securely and safely in a neat, organized and efficient manner to facilitate easy identification, retrieval and issuance to the truck drivers for delivery to customers.

10. Follows strictly all relevant local regulations and guidelines regarding storage/ stacking of inventory stock in the warehouses, e.g. clearances between rows, height limit of vertical stacking, etc.

Qualifications:

Minimum high school graduate

Possesses a valid license, if required, to drive and handle forklifts

With training certification in forklift operations, handling, safety and maintenance

Preferably with related work experience in an industrial manufacturing
