The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled payroll professional with extensive end-to-end payroll experience who can confidently manage complex payroll processes across multiple business entities and states.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring payroll compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement while partnering with stakeholders across the business.
This role can be based in Brisbane or considered for exceptional candidates located in other Australian states.
What You'll Be Doing
Payroll Processing
End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
Processing timesheets, payroll uploads, EFT payments and payslip distribution
Managing new starters, employee transfers, changes and terminations
Ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance with Enterprise Agreements, Awards and legislative requirements
Calculating and processing leave entitlements, including:
Annual Leave
Personal Leave
Long Service Leave
Parental Leave
RDOs and other accrued entitlements
Maintaining and updating employee records
Reconciling payroll data and ensuring payroll integrity
Enterprise Agreement and contract interpretation
Managing payroll reporting requirements, month-end and year-end activities
Supporting payroll-related audits and compliance requirements
Assisting with payroll enquiries from employees, managers and stakeholders
Statutory & Compliance Responsibilities
Processing and reconciling superannuation payments
Preparing and processing payroll tax obligations
Managing portable long service leave requirements
Supporting workers compensation reporting and reconciliations
Processing employee deductions and statutory obligations
Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and company policies
Stakeholder Engagement
Providing payroll guidance and support to employees and managers
Building trusted relationships across multiple business units
Liaising with superannuation funds and external providers where required
Partnering with HR, Finance and operational teams to resolve payroll matters efficiently
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
✔ 7+ years' payroll experience in a complex payroll environment
✔ Proven experience processing end-to-end payroll from commencement through to reporting and reconciliation
✔ Mandatory experience using iChris or Chris21 payroll systems
✔ Strong experience managing:
Superannuation processing
EFT payment files
Payroll reconciliations
Statutory compliance requirements
✔ Extensive knowledge of:
Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBA)
Modern Awards
Payroll legislation and compliance
✔ Experience working across multiple entities and/or multiple Australian states
✔ Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
✔ Ability to prioritise competing deadlines and work autonomously
Highly Desirable
Construction industry payroll experience
Experience with UKG Workforce Ready, UKG Pro, Kronos or other UKG systems
Exposure to Time & Attendance systems
Experience within a multi-site, multi-disciplinary organisation
Payroll coding experience
Tertiary qualification in Business, Human Resources, Finance or a related discipline
