About the Role
At Carlson Construction Group, we build more than projects — we build teams. Our people are the foundation of everything we do, and we're looking for a Human Resources Generalist who's ready to help shape what a great employee experience looks like across our growing group of companies.
This isn't a role where you sit on the sidelines. You'll be right in the mix — driving recruitment, supporting our teams, and helping build a culture where people genuinely want to do their best work. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love wearing multiple hats, and get energized by seeing your work make a real, visible impact — this is the seat for you.
From onboarding to employee relations to culture-building, you'll touch nearly every part of the employee journey, all while being a trusted go-to across the organization. This is HR with purpose: hands-on, people-focused, and directly tied to how we grow as a business.
What You'll Be Doing
Recruitment & On boarding
Lead full-cycle recruitment across the group — job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management
Support and enhance onboarding, engagement, and overall employee experience initiatives
Employee Support & Relations
Act as a trusted point of contact for employees on HR-related matters, providing timely guidance and support
Manage employee relations, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes with professionalism and fairness
Apply strong knowledge of employment standards, labour laws, and company policy to ensure compliance
Programs & Performance
Partner with HR leadership to implement best practices and impactful HR programs
Support performance management processes and employee development initiatives
Contribute to compensation and benefits administration, including salary benchmarking and structure alignment
Coordinate and support internal and external training and development programs
Data, Systems & Communication
Track and analyze HR metrics, providing insights and reports to support data-driven decision-making
Support HR system implementations and process improvements to enhance efficiency
Own company-wide HR communications — drafting and distributing employee announcements, organizational updates, policy changes, and onboarding communications
Culture & Growth
Support organizational initiatives, including workforce planning, restructuring, and continuous improvement
Champion employee engagement and culture initiatives that strengthen team performance and morale
Take on other duties and projects as assigned to support departmental and business goals
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role
Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes
Strong understanding of employment standards, labour laws, and HR best practices
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
Strong ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders at all levels
Currently enrolled in, actively working toward, or in possession of a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
Valid BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle
Nice to Have
Strategic mindset with the ability to connect HR initiatives to broader business goals
Experience using data and metrics to inform HR decisions (turnover, engagement, performance)
Strong proficiency with Excel, dashboards, and HRIS platforms
Experience supporting process improvements, system implementations, or change initiatives
Strong presentation and facilitation skills (training experience a strong asset)
