The Opportunity
Avam is seeking a motivated and highly organized Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead recruiting efforts across multiple companies within Avam Group.
This individual will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from workforce planning and candidate sourcing through interviews, offer coordination, and onboarding handoff. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will partner closely with hiring managers and company leadership to understand each team’s needs, develop effective recruiting strategies, and create a consistent, professional candidate experience across the organization.
This role offers a meaningful leadership path. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow into a Recruiting Manager position as Avam’s hiring needs. They will also play an important role in helping establish the company’s formal employee relations function, including the systems, programs, and practices that support communication, engagement, workplace culture, and employee success across Avam Group.
Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition
Manage full-cycle recruiting for positions across Avam Group and its operating companies.
Recruit for a broad range of scientific, technical, manufacturing, commercial, creative, operational, and corporate roles.
Partner with hiring managers to define position requirements, candidate profiles, interview processes, and hiring timelines.
Draft clear, engaging, and accurate job descriptions that reflect each position and the Avam employer brand.
Develop sourcing strategies using LinkedIn, Indeed, industry-specific platforms, professional networks, universities, referrals, and direct outreach.
Identify and engage passive candidates for specialized and difficult-to-fill positions.
Review applications, conduct initial interviews, evaluate candidate qualifications, and present recommended candidates to hiring teams.
Coordinate interviews, assessments, reference checks, and other stages of the selection process.
Support the preparation and delivery of employment offers in coordination with Human Resources and company leadership.
Maintain timely and professional communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and anticipated hiring needs.
Support recruiting efforts across multiple locations, departments, and operating companies.
Recruiting Operations and Strategy
Help establish standardized recruiting processes, interview guides, scorecards, templates, and documentation across Avam Group.
Track recruiting activity, hiring progress, candidate sources, time-to-fill, offer acceptance rates, and other talent acquisition metrics.
Maintain accurate candidate and requisition records within the company’s applicant tracking and HR systems.
Identify opportunities to improve recruiting efficiency, candidate quality, hiring manager responsiveness, and the overall candidate experience.
Assist leadership with workforce planning and hiring prioritization.
Support employer-branding initiatives, career-page content, recruitment campaigns, university outreach, and professional networking events.
Monitor recruiting market conditions and provide guidance on talent availability, compensation expectations, and competitive hiring practices.
Help select and manage external recruiters, staffing partners, and recruitment platforms when needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field preferred.
Two or more years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, human resources, staffing, or a related function preferred.
Experience managing multiple open positions and hiring processes simultaneously.
Strong sourcing, interviewing, candidate-assessment, and relationship-building skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively with hiring managers, executives, candidates, and employees across different functions and levels of seniority.
Sound judgment and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Ability to work in a fast-growing environment where priorities may evolve quickly.
Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, HR information systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and other sourcing platforms is preferred.
Experience recruiting for scientific, technical, manufacturing, healthcare, biotechnology, chemistry, or other specialized roles is helpful but not required.
Knowledge of employment practices and recruiting compliance is preferred.
