Client Success Manager
Skills
About the role
As a Client Success Manager at Laborjack, you'll be the dedicated point of contact for a portfolio of clients - making sure every job runs smoothly and every relationship gets stronger over time. You'll blend hands-on customer support with real ownership over the client experience, working across our internal platform to keep both clients and workers set up for success.
This isn't just another support job. Laborjack is reinventing how companies find and deploy labor, while changing the perception of staffing agencies. We’re not a staffing agency, we are a labor solution, partner and growth advocate for clients and workers; faster, smarter, and more human.
From event crews to warehouse teams, we leverage technology to connect businesses with reliable, ready-to-roll workers at scale. And we need someone who genuinely loves taking care of people - clients and workers alike - and won't settle for "good enough" when it comes to their experience.
If you light up when you solve someone's problem and you believe every interaction is a chance to earn trust, keep reading.
What You'll Do (aka Mission-Critical Stuff)
Be the relationship: Own the day-to-day experience for a portfolio of clients - you're their go-to person, not a ticket number
Respond fast, fix faster: Handle client questions and issues via phone, text, and email with urgency and care
Champion the worker side too: Appreciate our workforce, keep them informed, supported, and set up to succeed on every job
Own the full lifecycle: Manage client requests from inquiry to job well done in our internal platform - no two days look the same
Catch it before it's a problem: Monitor active jobs and jump in proactively when something's trending sideways
Close the loop: Gather structured feedback from clients and workers, identify recurring themes, and partner with Operations to implement meaningful improvements.
Who You Are (aka Our Ideal Teammate)
2-4 years in a customer-facing, client success, or account management role; bonus points if it was fast-paced
You treat people like people, not accounts - you listen first, then act
Detail-obsessed, calm under pressure, and quick on your feet
You write clearly, speak confidently, and know when to escalate versus solve it yourself
Ambitious as hell - you want in early at something big, and you're ready to help build it, not just staff it
Comfortable juggling relationships, tech, and the occasional fire drill
Fluent in Google Sheets, Google Docs, and other day-to-day tools
Bonus: experience in staffing, marketplaces, logistics, or customer success at a startup
How We Work
Everything above only matters if it's built on the right foundation. Here's what we expect from every teammate, every day:
People First - Clients and workers aren't interchangeable inventory. We protect their experience, their safety, and their dignity, even when it's the harder call to make.
Infectious Enthusiasm - We show up engaged, energized, and ready to turn a hard moment into a win. Enthusiasm isn't fake positivity - it's the choice to keep moving things forward.
Take Ownership - We own outcomes, not just tasks. If something's off, we raise it early, fix it, and don't wait to be rescued.
Boldly Innovate - We're not precious about "how it's always been done." If there's a better way to serve clients and workers, we build it.
Earned Trust - We say what's true, even when it's uncomfortable, and we deliver on what we promise. Trust is the whole business model.
