Project Manager / Estimator - Water, Fire & Mold Mitigation
About the role
About Us
Dry Guys Restoration is an Idaho-based water, fire, and mold damage restoration contractor. When a homeowner or business owner has the worst day of their year, we're the crew that shows up, stops the damage, and walks them through the claim from first call to final invoice. We run a tight, well-documented operation - good systems, good people, and no chaos for the sake of chaos.
The Role
We're hiring a Project Manager / Estimator for our mitigation division. This is a field-and-phone role: you'll respond to emergency losses, inspect and sell the job on-site, document it thoroughly, write the estimate, and own the relationship with both the customer and the insurance carrier until the mitigation work is complete.
If you know restoration, can talk to a stressed-out homeowner and a skeptical adjuster in the same afternoon, and can back up your scope with clean documentation - this is your job.
What You'll Do
Respond to emergency service calls, including a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours and weekend losses
Perform on-site inspections and assessments of water, fire, mold, and related losses
Sell the job - explain the scope, the process, and the value to the property owner, and get the work authorized
Document the loss completely: photos, moisture mapping and readings, affected materials, sketches, and daily job notes
Write accurate mitigation estimates and scopes of work
Manage the claim from first notice of loss through mitigation completion
Communicate directly with adjusters, desk adjusters, and carrier reps - submit documentation, justify scope, and resolve pushback
Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer, setting expectations and keeping them informed throughout the project
Coordinate with crew chiefs and technicians to make sure the work in the field matches the scope on paper
Keep job files, statuses, and milestone dates current in our CRM
What You Need

Minimum 2 years of experience in the restoration industry (water, fire, mold, or related mitigation work)
Valid driver's license and a good driving record - this role drives a company vehicle daily and is subject to an MVR check
Working knowledge of mitigation processes, drying science, and industry documentation standards
Strong written and verbal communication skills - you'll be writing to adjusters and talking to customers all day
Comfort with technology: estimating software, CRM/job management systems, and mobile documentation tools
Ability to work on-call rotation and respond to emergency losses outside of normal business hours
Preferred:
IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, AMRT, FSRT)
Xactimate proficiency
Prior estimating or project management experience in restoration
Experience working directly with insurance carriers and adjusters
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., navigate crawl spaces, attics, and stairs, and work in environments requiring PPE and respiratory protection
