Power Platform and AI Engineer
Skills
About the role
Summary
Evolver is seeking a Power Platform and AI Engineer to join our newly formed Citizen Development team within the Infrastructure Engineering organization. The team's mission is to help colleagues across the business automate their workflows using low-code and enterprise AI tools. In this role, your primary stack will be Microsoft Power Platform-Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Copilot Studio-supplemented by enterprise AI assistants and agentic coding tools such as Claude Code that accelerate how you build. You will consult with business teams to identify automation opportunities, deliver solutions, and enable colleagues to become effective citizen developers themselves. This is not a traditional software development role: the team consults, builds, and enables using sustainable low-code and AI-assisted patterns rather than writing or maintaining custom software. Success in this role depends on close partnership with business users to understand their processes, deliver automations they can own and sustain, and build durable citizen development capability across the firm. This position is fully remote.
Responsibilities
Partner with business teams across the firm to identify, scope, and prioritize workflow automation opportunities.
Design and build automation solutions using Microsoft Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate cloud flows, and Dataverse.
Build conversational agents and AI-driven automations in Microsoft Copilot Studio and with enterprise AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini.
Develop Power BI reports and dashboards that give business teams visibility into their processes and the impact of automation.
Leverage agentic coding tools, such as Claude Code or Codex, to accelerate the development, testing, and documentation of automations and reusable patterns.
Coach and enable citizen developers across the business through training sessions, office hours, and hands-on pairing.
Develop and maintain a catalog of reusable templates, patterns, and documentation that helps business teams build well on their own.
Participate in Power Platform governance, including environment strategy, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and solution-based application lifecycle management.
Support the lifecycle of solutions the team delivers, including enhancements, maintenance, and user adoption.
Recognize when a request exceeds sustainable low-code patterns and redirect it to the appropriate engineering team
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of hands-on experience in business process automation, low-code development, or a similar role.
5 years of working experience across the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate cloud flows, Power BI, and Dataverse.
5 years working experience with agentic coding tools, such as Claude Code or Codex, applied to automation and workflow development.
5 years of experience partnering with non-technical business users to translate manual processes into automated solutions.
3 years of experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate productivity, including regular use of enterprise AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini, with sound judgment about when output requires verification.
3 years of background in financial services technology environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency building conversational agents and automations in Microsoft Copilot Studio.
Understanding of Power Platform governance concepts, including environments, DLP policies, and solution-based application lifecycle management.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with business partners and build support for automation across the firm.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Relevant certifications, such as PL-200 Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant.
Experience building agent-based or LLM-assisted workflows, including Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations.
Performance Metrics
Success in this role will be measured by the number and business adoption of automations delivered, the reduction in manual effort across business teams, the number of citizen developers enabled through training and coaching, the compliance of delivered solutions with platform governance standards, and the quality and reusability of templates, patterns, and documentation contributed to the program.
Actual salary will depend on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, market and work location. Evolver offers competitive benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
