About the role

What to Expect

Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg marks a defining moment in Europe for Tesla’s mission of accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Here we will launch revolutionary products on a massive scale, using extraordinary speed, innovation and efficiency. Our employees will ensure that we achieve our goals, and we welcome you to help us write the next chapter of our success story.

Battery Cells are the common denominator for every Tesla product. Our environment is fast-paced and incredibly exciting. Tesla moves quickly, so being passionate and self-motivated to push your limits is critical.

Tesla’s GFBB Cell New Product Introduction (NPI) team is looking for an energetic Technical Program Manager to be responsible for connecting the technical work in the factory to Tesla’s overall technology and business objectives. Through coordination of a diverse group of stakeholders (product design, manufacturing, quality, and the production organization), you will take high level ambiguous targets and break them down into tangible, actionable, measurable projects. You will first give high level targets to different teams in our production facility, then partner with each to build a bottom-up project list that delivers the target in the desired timeframe. Ultimately, you will be responsible for defining, tracking, and improving our production efficiency through specific yield, availability, speed, and quality improvement projects.

What You'll Do

Develop a deep understanding of the cylindrical cell manufacturing process

Connect business objectives to organizational project lists and drive accountability

Track and report progress to the executive team

Distill complex highly coupled challenge down to the key variable

Join the project team of the highest impact projects as an individual contributor to accelerate progress

Define long term strategy to improve yield and quality, connecting action across the organization from our supply base to final inspection

Define multiple solutions for each problem, and balancing risk across different teams (reducing upstream variation and increasing downstream process window)

Building funding requests and tracking budgets when required

What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering) or equivalent

Production Operations Knowledge - has a firm understanding of how complex production lines operate, including key items such as industrial workings between facilities/departments, line balance, OEE, error proofing, etc.

Experience and interest in data visualization techniques

Experience with complex analytical problem solving in a fast-moving, constantly evolving high-growth environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation abilities to influence cross-functional and global teams.

Comfortable in an environment with unstructured, incomplete, and ambiguous data

Data driven experience in high volume manufacturing environment

Strong engineering skills and proven track record of exceptional ability (i.e., you personally solved difficult problems that moved the needle on meaningful projects)

What we offer:

You will be working in our state-of-the-art Gigafactory where you’ll solve the world's most interesting problems with the best and brightest people who share a passion to change the world. Tesla’s compensation package includes a competitive salary and Tesla shares or bonuses. Typical benefits that we provide are 30 vacation days, an occupational pension, employee life and disability insurances, free EV charging, product discounts and various transportation benefits.

Tesla is also committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities. Please let your recruiter know if you need an accommodation at any point during the interview process.
