We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join us as a Loader Operator in Ashburton and be part of a team doing Good Work that keeps communities moving.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll operate a loader alongside a portable crushing plant to deliver safe, high-quality work for our customers across Ashburton and the wider Canterbury area. You’ll be working with modern plant and equipment, including a new Volvo L180K loader, giving you the chance to do good work with gear that is built to perform. It’s a role with real responsibility, plenty of variety, and a team that backs each other to get the job done right.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

Operate loaders and other machinery to load the crusher plant, manage stockpiling, and occasionally load trucks.

Carry out daily machine checks and help monitor and maintain the portable crushing plant.

Deliver safe, high-quality work on time and to a high standard.

Build positive working relationships with internal and external customers.

Support the team across Ashburton and surrounding areas as required.

A full Class 2 licence with WTR endorsements.

Previous experience operating heavy machinery, such as loaders.

Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence working with modern plant.

Flexibility to work away from home when required.

Experience in the mining or quarrying industry would be advantageous.

A proactive approach to health and safety, because when it counts, we switch on.

A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well as part of a team or independently.
