Are you passionate about the outdoors and take pride in creating beautiful, well-maintained green spaces? Join the talented Parks team at New Plymouth District Council as our next Field Staff - Horticulture team member in this permanent, full-time role.

In this hands-on position, you'll play a key role in delivering our horticulture work programme across the district, helping to maintain and enhance a diverse range of public spaces. From vibrant garden beds and scenic walkways to expansive native reserves, no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa matua

Ensure all health and safety directions/instructions are followed.

Carry out horticulture work as scheduled/directed.

Engage with the public and provide a quality customer service.

Utilises resources effectively.

Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation.

Essential Skills and Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako

Field experience in the maintenance of Parks and Reserves that may include cemeteries, horticulture, arboriculture, turf culture.

Full Class 1 Drivers licence minimum Class 2 preferable

General fitness at a level to be able to cope with the demands of the job.

A passion for horticulture and the outdoors.

Previous experience using Agrichemicals

You can expect to start in this permanent, full-time role with a salary of between $62,192 - $63,564.
