Our Environment Group, within External Affairs, supports Transpower to meet its environmental responsibilities and make well-informed decisions across our operations, projects and stakeholder commitments.

About the team

The Environmental Systems & Strategies Team provides centralised oversight and management of environmental strategies, systems, processes, reporting and analytics. The team supports consistent environmental practice, quality information, reliable systems and data-led decision-making across the Environment Group and wider business, while also providing technical environmental advice in specialist areas including biodiversity, waste management, noise and electromagnetic fields.

The Opportunity

As Information & Systems Analyst, youll support the effective management of Environment Group information, systems, data and reporting. Youll help ensure information is accurate, accessible and reliable, support users of Environment Group systems, and provide analysis and insights that inform evidence-based decision-making, compliance monitoring and continuous improvement.

Youll work across key Environment Group systems including ENVi, P tai, the Environmental Screening Tool and future upgrades or replacements, supporting users, monitoring data quality, maintaining business rules and procedures, and contributing to system improvements, testing, training and implementation.

Reporting to the Environmental Systems & Strategies Team Leader, youll also develop and maintain dashboards, performance reports, KPIs and metrics, analyse environmental information from multiple sources, support reporting and approvals processes, and provide practical coordination and business support for the Environment Group. This will include travel administration, monthly environmental reporting, contract administration and approvals, monitoring contract timeframes, and helping coordinate group meetings, events and biodiversity restoration planting days.

What will you bring?

Youll bring strong data management and analytical skills, exceptional planning and organising capability, and the relationship skills to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Youll be comfortable working with systems, data, reporting requirements and business processes, and will have the attention to detail needed to maintain quality information and support reliable decision-making.

Strong data management and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate information from multiple sources, identify trends and resolve data quality issues.

Experience using, supporting or improving environmental management tools, business systems, reporting processes or similar operational systems.

Excellent planning, organising and coordination skills, including the ability to support reporting cycles, approvals, contract administration and group activities.

Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to advise, train and support system users.

Strong relationship management skills, including the ability to influence and work constructively with business stakeholders, service providers, consultants and regulatory bodies.

Your CV and cover letter will demonstrate:

A qualification in business administration, information systems or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience working with environmental management tools, consent or compliance systems, reporting processes or data sets.

The ability to develop and maintain dashboards, reports, KPIs, metrics or other insight products that support decision-making.

Confidence working with users to understand needs, provide support, develop guidance materials and contribute to system or process improvements.

Ideally, experience in a regulatory, infrastructure, utilities or operational environment, and a general understanding of Te Ao M ori.
