The Opportunity
Location: Edmonton Alberta, St. Joseph Catholic High School
Job classification: S4001 - Instructor
Hourly Rate: $47.85 -$51.26 Placement within the range is typically based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity.
Availability: Monday and Wednesday evenings, approximately 7–10 hours per week..
Position End Date: January 13, 2027

We are currently recruiting a casual hourly Aviation Maintenance Instructor to support dual‑credit programming and help equip the next generation of aviation professionals. If you are a positive, highly motivated Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with a Transport Canada AME “M” license, we encourage you to apply.
How you'll contribute
Deliver the ASYS‑245 dual‑credit course in alignment with SAIT policies, ethics and best practices
Prepare and deliver lessons, lectures, assignments, quizzes, exams and demonstrations
Maintain accurate records for grading, professionalism assessments and attendance tracking in theory and lab settings
Share attendance and achievement data with internal and external stakeholders in accordance with POPA
Manage classroom and lab environments to ensure a positive, safe learning experience aligned with SAIT’s Minors on Campus and child‑safeguarding policies
Build rapport with learners and foster a supportive, inclusive climate
Provide ongoing guidance and communicate regularly with school‑board partner representatives
Assist in curriculum development, including adapting content for younger learners
Oversee the student lab environment, including scheduling, equipment use and proper storage
Maintain strong connections with industry partners, SAIT Youth Initiatives and school boards
Participate in curriculum and program reviews related to dual‑credit delivery
What you bring
Relevant post‑secondary education (minimum two‑year diploma from a recognized institution)
Minimum five years of related industry experience
Licensed AME
Experience and genuine interest in working with junior high and high school youth
Dual‑credit teaching experience is an asset
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize and present written information clearly
Strong commitment to delivering high‑quality instruction within established timelines

Compensation
This Teacher role pays $48k-$51k/yr. Within typical range for teacher roles in Canada.
