Please note: We are currently hiring for two Senior Business Analyst – Identity & Access Management (IAM) positions: one permanent full-time role and one 12-month term position.
Overview of the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst – Identity & Access Management (IAM) to join our Technology team. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders, Cybersecurity, Compliance, and IT teams, ensuring Identity and Access Management initiatives align with business objectives, security requirements, and regulatory obligations.
The Senior Business Analyst will play a critical role in supporting and advancing WestJet’s IAM, Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), and Privileged Access Management (PAM) programs. The focus of the role will be to analyze access management processes, gather and document business and technical requirements, support application onboarding into SailPoint, and drive continuous improvement through standardization, automation, and governance.
Reporting to the IAM leadership team, the Senior Business Analyst will work closely with application owners, business leaders, Security teams, and technical delivery teams to identify applications requiring IAM integration, validate and analyze application data, and support enterprise-wide certification and attestation activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong stakeholder management, business analysis, and data analysis skills, while thriving in a collaborative and agile environment.
Experience with IAM platforms such as SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) or Identity Security Cloud (ISC) is considered a strong asset; however, candidates with strong business analysis experience and a desire to learn IAM concepts are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement
Facilitate workshops, interviews, and requirements sessions with business and technical stakeholders
Document current-state and future-state business processes and workflows
Gather and validate business, functional, and technical requirements
Translate business needs into actionable requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Build strong relationships across business, technology, security, and compliance teams
Provide regular communication and status updates to stakeholders and project teams
Develop onboarding readiness and certification reporting for IAM initiatives
Application Discovery & Data Analysis
Inventory applications across business units and technology domains
Analyze and validate application information from CMDB platforms and other enterprise repositories
Conduct data quality assessments and resolve data discrepancies
Document and maintain information related to:
Application ownership
Support teams
Application criticality
User populations
Access models and entitlement structures
SailPoint Certification & Onboarding Support
Support application onboarding into SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) or Identity Security Cloud (ISC)
Prepare applications and stakeholders for access certification and attestation campaigns
Collect, validate, and reconcile access and application data
Support users and business stakeholders through certification activities
Monitor onboarding progress and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies as required
Collaborate with application owners to address ownership and governance gaps
Agile Delivery
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives
Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items within Jira
Partner with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and delivery teams to support successful execution
Create and maintain readiness metrics, onboarding dashboards, and status reporting
Communicate project progress, risks, and priorities to stakeholders
Documentation & Reporting
Develop and maintain:
Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
User stories and functional requirements
Process maps and workflows
Gap analyses and recommendations
Stakeholder communications
Project artifacts and governance documentation
Experience and Qualifications:
5+ years of Business Analyst experience within enterprise technology environments
Proven experience gathering, documenting, and validating business and technical requirements
Strong facilitation skills with experience leading workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions
Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery environments
Hands-on experience with Jira and Agile project management practices
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
Experience analyzing and reconciling large datasets from multiple sources
Experience working with CMDB platforms such as ServiceNow
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities
Ability to manage competing priorities while working in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within Identity and Access Management (IAM) programs
Experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) and/or SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC)
Knowledge of Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) concepts and processes
Experience supporting access certification and attestation campaigns
Understanding of application onboarding and identity lifecycle management processes
Experience working within Cybersecurity, Risk, Governance, or Compliance programs
Experience with ServiceNow and related enterprise platforms
Knowledge of access governance concepts, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), segregation of duties, and access review processes
Relevant industry certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSM, SAFe, Security+, or equivalent are considered an asset
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks including SOX, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and PIPEDA is considered an asset
