Job Summary
We are hiring QA Engineers with 2 to 3 years of experience for our Pune office. This is a full-time, work-from-office position, and candidates must be available to attend the office daily.
The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in manual testing, test-case preparation, defect reporting, API testing, and database validation. The candidate should be comfortable testing web-based applications and working with developers, senior QA engineers, product managers, and business analysts in an Agile environment.
Basic exposure to automation testing using Selenium or a similar tool will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Understand functional requirements, user stories, workflows, acceptance criteria, and business rules.
Participate in requirement discussions and raise questions about unclear or missing requirements.
Create detailed test scenarios, test cases, checklists, and test data.
Execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and user-interface testing.
Test web applications across supported browsers and screen resolutions.
Verify field validations, business rules, calculations, navigation, permissions, and error messages.
Test REST APIs using Postman or similar tools.
Validate API request methods, headers, payloads, status codes, response data, and error responses.
Perform basic database validation using MySQL or Oracle queries.
Write SQL queries using filters, joins, sorting, and basic aggregate functions.
Compare data displayed in the application with API responses and database records.
Report defects with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, screenshots, videos, logs, and other supporting evidence.
Assign appropriate severity and priority recommendations based on the defect’s impact.
Retest resolved defects and perform regression testing for affected functionality.
Work with developers and senior QA engineers to reproduce and troubleshoot issues.
Maintain test cases, test execution results, defect records, and regression checklists.
Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Communicate testing progress, blockers, risks, and incomplete coverage to the QA lead or project team.
Support release validation, production verification, and post-release testing when required.
Create and maintain basic automation scripts under the guidance of senior QA engineers.
Use Git for basic activities such as cloning repositories, pulling changes, creating branches, committing changes, and pushing test scripts.
Follow established QA processes, documentation standards, and testing practices.
Required Skills
Manual and Functional Testing
Strong knowledge of manual testing fundamentals.
Experience creating test scenarios, test cases, checklists, and test data.
Experience performing functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing.
Understanding of positive, negative, boundary-value, and validation testing.
Ability to understand business workflows and identify common edge cases.
Experience reporting and tracking defects using JIRA or a similar tool.
Ability to clearly document defects and testing results.
API Testing
Hands-on experience testing REST APIs using Postman.
Understanding of GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE methods.
Understanding of request headers, query parameters, path parameters, authentication, and JSON payloads.
Ability to validate HTTP status codes, response fields, data types, and error messages.
Ability to perform positive and negative API testing.
Basic knowledge of Postman collections, environments, and variables.
Basic exposure to Postman test scripts is preferred.
Database Testing
Working knowledge of MySQL or Oracle.
Ability to write basic SQL queries using SELECT, WHERE, ORDER BY, GROUP BY, and JOIN.
Ability to validate records created or updated through the application.
Understanding of primary keys, foreign keys, table relationships, and basic data constraints.
Ability to compare user-interface or API data with database values.
Automation Testing
Basic knowledge of Selenium or a similar automation tool.
Understanding of locators, browser actions, waits, assertions, and test execution.
Basic scripting or programming knowledge is preferred.
Ability to understand, execute, and make minor updates to existing automation scripts.
Willingness to develop automation-testing skills.
Tools and Version Control
Postman
JIRA or a similar defect-tracking tool
MySQL or Oracle query tools
Browser developer tools
Selenium or a similar automation tool
Git for basic version-control activities
AI-Assisted Testing Tools
Familiarity with AI-assisted tools such as:
ChatGPT
GitHub Copilot
Claude
Other AI-supported testing or development tools
The candidate may use AI tools for:
Drafting and refining test scenarios
Identifying negative and boundary test cases
Understanding technical or business workflows
Generating sample test data
Creating or reviewing basic SQL queries
Understanding API errors and application logs
Assisting with basic automation scripts
Improving defect descriptions and test documentation
Note: Candidates must demonstrate strong manual-testing fundamentals and should not rely solely on AI-generated output. All generated test cases, queries, scripts, and recommendations must be reviewed and validated before use.
Eligibility Criteria
2 to 3 years of professional experience in QA or software testing.
Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and the defect lifecycle.
Hands-on experience testing web-based applications.
Experience in test-case design, execution, and defect reporting.
Basic practical experience with API testing using Postman.
Working knowledge of SQL and database validation.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with developers, QA engineers, and product teams.
Willingness to learn automation, integration testing, and advanced QA practices.
Must be comfortable working daily from the Pune office.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience testing SaaS, B2B, eCommerce, CRM, ERP, procurement, reporting, or workflow-based applications.
Exposure to integration testing involving APIs and databases.
Basic experience with Selenium or another automation framework.
Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodology.
Exposure to cross-browser and responsive-web testing.
Experience validating role-based permissions or configurable workflows.
Basic familiarity with CI/CD concepts.
Experience working in sprint-based product-development teams.
Work Location Requirement
This is a work-from-office role based in Kalyani Nagar, Pune.
Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the office or relocate to Pune before joining. Daily in-office attendance is required.
Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
