Business Segment Overview

Corporate: Engage in a deep variety of business-critical activities that keep our company running efficiently. From strategic marketing and financial management to human resources and operational oversight, you’ll have the opportunity to optimize processes and implement game-changing policies.

We are looking for a detail-orientated Senior Project Manager with experience in payments to lead the planning and delivery of business-critical initiatives across our Global Payments business. The role is critical to bridging business needs with cross-functional delivery across multiple teams. You will work closely with Payment Operations, the front office, product, client service, technology teams, and external partners (banks, payment networks and vendors) to plan and coordinate work and drive client-centric solutions for our global institutional and commercial client base. The ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise in international payments, stakeholder leadership, and end-to-end delivery experience in payments and financial services.

Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end delivery of Global Payments projects – across cross-border payments, multi-currency accounts, payment rails, FX and treasury – from initiation through to go-live and benefits realisation.

Manage project scope, schedule, budget and resources, maintaining detailed plans, RAID logs and milestone tracking to EPMO standards.

Coordinate cross-functional delivery across Payment Operations, front office, product, technology, risk, legal and compliance teams, as well as external banking and vendor partners.

Act as the primary point of contact for sponsors, business stakeholders, banking partners and vendors, providing clear and timely status reporting.

Prepare and present steering committee materials, escalating risks, issues and decisions to senior leadership, and present to ExCo as required.

Lead multiple high-complexity projects concurrently, holding teams to account and taking early action to avoid scope creep and slippage while adhering to the firm’s project delivery framework.

Mentor junior project managers, contribute to departmental improvements and share best practice across the EPMO.

Qualifications:

7+ years’ experience leading delivery on complex, cross-functional projects, with a strong background in payments, transaction banking or financial services.

Strong understanding of the payments lifecycle – cross-border/international payments, multi-currency accounts, correspondent banking, FX and settlement – and payment rails such as SWIFT, SEPA, Faster Payments, RTP and ACH.

Experience delivering regulatory and operational change in a payments context (e.g. AML/KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, PSD2, ISO 20022).

Knowledge and experience of PM governance and tools including Jira.

Proven ability to manage complex projects (teams of up to 70 people) and to establish credibility with senior stakeholders.

Confident presenting to ExCo and senior leadership, tailoring communication style to the audience.

Self-motivated, pro-active and able to work independently using own initiative.

Highly organized, able to prioritize workload, complete multiple tasks to deadlines and work under pressure.

What makes you stand out

Experience with payment platforms, payment hubs or integrations with providers and gateways (e.g. SWIFT, banking partners).

Experience implementing or integrating transaction-monitoring or financial-crime tooling (e.g. Fraud and Sanctions Screening).

Agile / scrum and/or waterfall project experience.

Experience with other Trade Asset classes i.e. Forwards / Options is a plus

Strong understanding of front-to-back payment operations within a fast-scaling, modern payments platform environment.

Experience working across global, distributed teams and time zones.
