Purpose of this role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Assistant is responsible for managing the companys AP/AR transactions and acting as a go-to contact within the Finance team. This hands on role ensures that all invoices are processed efficiently and accurately; while maintaining strong relationships with customers and vendors. Additionally, the Accounts Assistant supports the Finance Manager and Head of Finance in completing the month end close processes within agreed timelines.
Key Responsibilities

Process and issue sales invoices, ensuring all relevant invoicing details are correct.
Issue monthly customer statements and act as the day-to-day credit control contact.
Review, approve and issue purchase orders
Create and verify new vendor setups
Match vendor invoices to POs and process vendor invoices.
Prepare monthly vendor reconciliations and payment runs.
Process cash transactions and maintain bank and credit card reconciliations.
Process staff expenses and input on ROS for enhanced reporting.
Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries.
Assist in the preparation of month end journals and reconciliations.
Support in delivering the month end close in line with agreed timelines.
Support other administration tasks within the Finance Department as required including monitoring and maintaining the finance shared inbox
Assisting on ad-hoc financial projects and strategic initiatives as they arise
Demonstrate flexibility and a proactive approach to evolving business needs and priorities
Work Location and Hybrid Working
This role is based at IMI's headquarters in Dublin. IMI recognises the importance of flexible work arrangements and promotes a hybrid work model that combines in-person and virtual work. Staff/Faculty have the flexibility to work remotely for part of their working hours, subject to operational requirements and the agreement of their line manager as outlined in the Work Life Balance Policy. Travel within Ireland and, occasionally, internationally may be required to attend meetings, conferences and client engagements. A full, clean driving licence is a requirement of this role.
Required Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge
Strong working knowledge of core accounting principles and procedures.
Experience of Microsoft accounting packages (Business Central) desirable.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general IT skills.
