About the role
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 plus a competitive bonus and incentive package. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, & discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation & comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards program will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role. The Director, Business Development is responsible for generating new business opportunities across the Corporate Business & Industry (B&I) sector throughout Western Canada. This role is focused on identifying, pursuing, and securing strategic hospitality, workplace dining, premium amenity, and outsourced partnerships with leading organizations.
As a key contributor within a growth-oriented sales organization, the successful candidate will lead consultative business development initiatives, develop compelling client strategies, and create winning proposals and presentations that differentiate Compass Group Canada's value proposition. This role requires a highly motivated, entrepreneurial sales professional with a proven ability to build executive relationships, navigate complex sales cycles, and deliver sustainable revenue growth.

Utilize the Compass Sales Process to understand the clients’ criteria and articulate this internally to our Operations teams
Sell our complete service offerings as solutions that match client needs
Leverage Compass' significant resources to strategically initiate, manage, and develop customer relationships
Lead or develop service solutions and promote the Company's service value proposition to differentiate Compass from competitors and provide increased value to customers
Identify and manage significant up-sell and cross-sell opportunities within a broad service offering
Drive each element of the services sales cycle, including prospecting initiatives, proposals, RFP responses, and closing sales
Develop effective, creative, and customized proposals and presentations to bundle service offerings that effectively convey the Company's capabilities

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a true “Hunter” sales role working with a structured sales management methodology in a complex fast paced, ever changing environment with constant multiple priorities and deadlines
Proven track-record in successful B2B (business to business) and enterprise selling
Strong business acumen and expert negotiation skills
Superior relationship management and influencing skills
Ability to establish contacts and credibility with senior and executive level management decision makers
Working in a matrix organization structure
Experience developing financial projections to support complex, long-term contracts
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ability to travel up to 50% of your time (West)

This Sales role pays $100k-$115k/yr. Within typical range for sales roles in Canada.
