Role Profile

Job Title: Project Engineer

Base Location: Manchester (Hybrid) – UK wide delivery

inTEC Brand: inTEC Education

Hours Per Week: 37.5

Annual Leave: 25 days + bank holidays

Reports To: Director of Education

Due to continued growth and strong success across our education portfolio, we are expanding our Technical Delivery Team. We are seeking a highly capable Project Engineer to play a key role in delivering complex IT infrastructure, cloud, and digital transformation projects across the education sector. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and takes pride in delivering high-quality, structured solutions.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities

Lead the design, build, and delivery of education projects

Act as technical authority across project lifecycle

Work closely with Project Managers to scope, plan, and deliver technical solutions

Design and implement solutions across:

Networking (LAN/WAN, switching, wireless)

Virtualisation platforms (VMware / Hyper-V)

Cloud services (M365, Google Workspace, Azure)

Security and backup / disaster recovery

Produce clear HLD / LLD documentation and structured handover packs

Attend client meetings providing technical leadership and guidance

Support and mentor junior engineers, helping uplift team capability

Ensure delivery aligns to best practice, standards, and customer outcomes

What We’re Looking For

Core Experience

Strong background as a Project Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer

Proven experience delivering end-to-end IT education projects

Technical Expertise

Microsoft technologies:

Windows Server, Active Directory, M365, Azure

Virtualisation:

VMware and/or Hyper-V

Networking:

TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, switching, firewalls

Backup & DR:

Business continuity, backup architecture and recovery planning

Desirable Skills

Experience delivering cloud migration projects

Exposure to education sector environments (schools / trusts)

Personal Attributes

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Structured, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities

Commercial awareness in project delivery

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
