About the Role

Position function:

Reporting to the Principal Development Manager, the Principal Manager will manage Principal relationships in the assigned portfolio for Caldic North America where applicable, with an emphasis on execution, relationship management and support to the Commercial team.

Scope:

The Principal Development Manager will focus on strategically owning our Principal relationships, to drive business development, optimize sourcing, ensure reliable and cost-effective supply to be aligned with our corporate strategy and while collaborating with our Business Team Leaders and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for driving Principal’s performance to achieve mutual strategic objectives

Analysis and reporting on Principal performance

Experience working in food and/or nutrition

Collaborate with Principals to build strategy for business development proposals for expansion.

Gain market insights to translate relevant trends into objectives, generating an actionable strategic business plan

Responsible for day-to-day interactions with the assigned Principals including maintaining good working relationships

Support the Commercial team and Pricing team with periodic contracting processes, RFQ’s, and regular costing needs

Work with the Replenishment Team to ensure product is available based on customer and internal needs

Support internal teams at Caldic when escalation to Principals is needed

Establish multi-level connections within each of the principal’s businesses

Provide the necessary resources to implement, support, and enforce the health and safety policies and programs within the company by working in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, safe work practices and procedures established by Caldic.

Leverage business intelligence tools to drive the strategy in the designated clusters of distributed products

Interact with senior management to help build management reports including Principal Development commentary

Knowledge / Skills & Experience

Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration or a related field

Must have 8-12 years’ experience in Product/Category Management, Business Development or Procurement

Knowledge of Supply Chain and Inventory Management

Must have advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, OLAP, CRM and ERP tools)

Must have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

Must have strong organization skills

Problem solving and systemic thinking skills- critical analytics/ diagnosis; focus on continuous improvement

Strong customer service focus: ability to relate to people at all levels and build trusted relationships

Good prioritization and decision-making skills and judgment to drive the right impact

Works well in a team environment

Committed to continuous learning and providing and receiving candid feedback
