Athletics Games Lead Attendant (Hiring Year Round)
Position Summary
The Athletics department is hiring multiple positions with start dates throughout the year. Hours will be variable and dependent upon athletic game schedules. This posting will remain open until April 1, 2027 and review of applicants will be ongoing.
The Athletics Games Lead Attendant, under the direction of the Events & Community Engagement Coordinator, provides support and coordination for the successful running and reporting of Intercollegiate Athletics Games at Red Deer Polytechnic and contributes to the creation of a safe, exciting, and positive environment for all participants.
Position Responsibilities
Supervision of the Game Attendants and Volunteers:
Provides direction to game attendants, PA Announcers, Photographers, Mascot staff, practicum students, and other staff & volunteers during events in accordance with operational needs.
Acts as a supervisor during events to ensure RDP policies, practices, and procedures are being followed by all staff, and volunteers.
Coordination and Execution of Events:
In collaboration with Sport Services, completes pre- and post-event set up and take-down
Records, compiles, and reports game statistics, documents and information to internal and external contacts who require the information (i.e. ACAC, CCAA).
Facilitates and delivers in-game engagement activities, promotions, contests, and giveaways.
Operates RDP Athletics social media accounts during home events and maintains accurate, real-time score updates across designated platforms.
Reports any incidents to the Events & Community Engagement Coordinator or the Manager of Athletics
Ensures that all spectators for events adhere to the ACAC Spectator Code of Conduct
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
One year college certificate or equivalent
Six months to 1 year of related experience
Some experience with staff supervision
An understanding of the entire game/event experience and needs of the attendants and participants
Interpersonal communication skills or customer service experience

$22.18 per hour
Benefits and Compensation Information
An additional 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits.
