About the role
SUMMARY: The Welder will work closely with our production, quality and project delivery teams to accurately perform high-quality welding across differing materials such as carbon steel and aluminum in our facility supporting projects demanding exceptional craftsmanship and quality. The candidate must be willing and eager to work in an ISO-9001compliant small company, fast-paced environment where each employee wears multiple hats and fully embraces the get-it-done attitude. The position will report directly to the department supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include, but not limited to:
· Perform Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and/or Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) structural welding on aluminum and/or carbon steel that meet or exceed the AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.2 welding procedures.
· Perform welding using the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) or Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) welding processes.
· Weld, grind, sand, de-burr, drill and all other related activities associated with fabrication of complex components and structures ensuring proper alignment and fit-up.
· Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings to meet precise specifications across AWS, and industry-specific standards.
· Place and move blocking, braces and jigs, align parts and use all necessary tools to perform work
· Grind or chip rough edges, surplus weld or scale to deliver high quality work
· Inspect welds for quality, strength, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, using visual and non-destructive testing methods as needed.
· Collaborate with machinists, assemblers, and engineers to support production timelines and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment.
· Clean equipment, work area and tools while adhere to safety protocols
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
· One year certificate from college or 3-6 months weld shop experience and/or training welding to AWS D1.1 or D1.2, or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret safety and procedures furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
· Either obtain or ability to pass welder qualification tests in accordance with AWS D1.1 and D1.2.
· Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld specification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Regularly required to stand for extended periods of time.
· Work within a production environment that is noisy and not conditioned
· Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
· Frequently required to use hands to operate welding equipment.
· Frequently must bend, reach, and stoop.
· Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
