About the role

SWIMMING POOL & OUTDOOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Full-Time | Field Service | Non-Exempt

Company Overview

Aloha Pools is a family-owned custom pool construction and service company serving the greater Charlotte area for 36 years, making it one of the longest-standing pool builders in the region. Now in its second generation of family ownership, the company is one of only three Aquatech builders in North Carolina and a member of the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals. Aloha Pools has built its business on referrals and long-term client relationships, with a reputation for quality construction, integrity, and lasting craftsmanship.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the care, cleaning, and preventive maintenance of client swimming pools and outdoor living spaces on a daily and weekly route. This position tests and balances water chemistry, inspects and maintains pool equipment, and communicates directly and professionally with homeowners at every visit. The Maintenance Technician is often the only Aloha Pools employee a client sees in a given week and represents the company's reputation for quality workmanship and exceptional service in every backyard visited.

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and operates with a meaningful degree of independence once trained on a route. The role requires a strong work ethic, comfort working outdoors in varying conditions, and a genuine commitment to customer service.

Attention to Detail & Accuracy

▸ Gets water chemistry and equipment checks right the first time. Errors in this role affect client health, safety, and equipment longevity.

▸ Coordinates smoothly with the Service Manager when a repair beyond routine maintenance is needed.

Independence, Ownership & Initiative

▸ Works independently on a route and manages their own day once trained.

▸ Takes ownership of the properties on their route, not just the tasks on a checklist.

▸ Solves problems at their own level and escalates with a clear description, not just a question.

Problem Solving & Troubleshooting

▸ Diagnoses common pool equipment issues and knows when something is beyond routine maintenance.

▸ Brings ideas for doing the route more efficiently or serving clients better.

▸ Shows up on time, in every kind of weather. Clients and the team depend on it.
