About the role

Nanyang Technological University’s National Centre for Research in Digital Trust (DTC) is a Trust Technology Research Centre to execute a national program to help put Singapore into a strong trust hub. The key objective is to support efforts to create a trusted digital environment for people and businesses in the digital transformation by providing businesses and consumers with greater assurance and confidence as they digitalize.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to conduct cutting-edge research on trustworthy digital content, AI systems, and advanced forensic technologies for financial crime detection and anti-money laundering (AML). The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and validation of innovative approaches for detecting financial crimes, identifying illicit activities, and enhancing trust in digital financial ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for research and development of trust technologies such as Digital Forensics for Financial Investigations, Graph Analytics and Criminal Network Discovery, Suspicious Activity Detection, Digital Content Provenance and Authenticity, etc., which are important components to strengthening trust, security, and resilience in the digital economy.

Responsible for technologies system development/implementation, and delivery working prototypes/demo.

Lead/Involved in research/industrial projects.

Prepare reports and scientific papers.

Job Requirements:

Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Theory, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Strong publication record in top-tier conferences and journals related to AI, security, privacy, digital forensics, or trustworthy computing.

Solid background in Machine Learning, Digital Forensics, Security, and AI Generation Models.

Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Proficiency in programming languages including C/C++, Python, Java, and Go.

Familiarity with Digital Content Forensics, Machine Learning, AI Generation Models.

Experience with privacy-preserving technologies (e.g., homomorphic encryption, federated learning, secure computation) is an advantage.

Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to deliver high-quality research outcomes under tight schedules.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team.
