About the job
The System Engineer III is responsible for the design, development, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of effective Server & Cloud infrastructure systems to meet business and strategic goals. Specifically on Server, Network & Cloud design linked to IOT Automation projects. Develops System/Security standards and operating procedures for IT staff and customers related to Automation projects.
Your role
As a System Engineer III, you are responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving Bleckmann’s Server, Cloud, Network and Security infrastructure. You combine hands-on infrastructure management with technical oversight of IoT and Automation-related environments. You act as a technical expert for complex infrastructure challenges, collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, and contribute to the stability, security and scalability of our infrastructure landscape.
Your responsibilities
General System Administration (30%-40%)
Manage and maintain the company's IT infrastructure hardware On-Premise Data Center systems) and Cloud infrastructure IaaS, PaaS & SaaS solutions.
Assist and provide infrastructure assistance towards the WMS system group.
Manage and provide Security related assistance.
Provide 3rd line Hardware/Software/OS support and assist 2nd and 1st line infrastructure Support teams.
Ensure all systems usage policies (MS Entra ID, AD, GPO) are adhered and back-up procedures are in place.
Participate/Lead IT projects (cross-functional teams or dedicated infrastructure team).
Design, develop, and document system/security systems that enhance user expertise with regards to IT applications and systems. May provide training of IT staff and customers. Develops standards. Designs and prepares instructional manuals, video tutorials, and classroom sessions in support of developed solutions.
Work with IT staff and customers to analyze and solve business problems using network/security solutions. Works on complex and high impact issues. Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis and suggests the best course of action.
Contribute to cross functional project teams that address customer initiatives or IT infrastructure needs. May develop and disseminate training in areas of focused responsibility to IT staff and customers.
Being part of the monitoring team to keep our monitoring system up to date.
Conduct incident investigation. Conduct detailed troubleshooting of incidents and upgradation and provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Review change requests, execute complex changes, and prepare for the CAB meetings.
Participate with root cause analysis work groups for Server or Cloud related incidents.
IoT Oversight System Administration (60%-70%)
Manage and maintain relationships with our IT 3rd party solution providers that maintain our edge infrastructure linked to IOT.
Collaborate with our IT Functional Automation Software dept and our external IOT vendors on Issue, change and problem mgmt.
Review new design and upgrade cycles together with our IT Functional Automation Software dept.
Set up when required Edge infrastructure or/and Cloud infrastructure IaaS, PaaS & SaaS solutions based on the requirements from the external vendor and our agreed std configuration.
Assist and provide infrastructure assistance towards the Automation system group.
Being part of the monitoring team to keep our monitoring system up to date specifically on Automation Edge infrastructure.

Your profile
Required Qualifications
Graduate/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
5+ years of technical experience in the area of System/security where expertise has been gained in problem solving techniques, design methods and driving for results.
Experience with Networking LAN knowledge (CCNA, CCDA level).
Virtualisation techniques (VMWARE) in-depth knowledge.
Multiple Microsoft system administration in-depth knowledge (Win Server, AD, Azure).
Any Microsoft Server (MSCE/MSA) related and MS Azure certification / Training is a plus.
Veeam Backup & Restore system.
Experience with MS Azure Environments (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, Tenant/Zoning/WAF).
Technical writing for internal/external department use.
Customer focus through training or experience.
In-depth process documentation and review.
Analytical problem solving techniques and application to IT issues.
Communicative, proactive skillset to be able to negotiate with peers and customers.
Dynamic personality, Dealing with Ambiguity.
Be open to investigate and manage new Technology.
ITIL Knowledge (Incident, Change, Problem mgmt. in particular).
You are a stress resistant and flexible team player.
You are in possession of a valid license in order to visit other Bleckmann Sites if needed.
Dutch and English knowledge.
Willing to travel to other sites outside of your std working place. (10% max).
Additional Preferred Skills and Abilities
Vmware NSX & vRealize knowledge.
Container technology (Kubernetes, Docker, ..).
Linux OS (Red Hat).
Infrastructure as Code and Configuration management skills (Terraform, Ansible/Puppet).
SQL administration knowledge.
