Purpose of the role:
The Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) production lead takes ownership to embed a firm and strong safety culture on the shopfloor. He/she is implementing, monitoring and continuously improving EHS practices on the shopfloor.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Advise and support the plant management in implementing the group Environment, Health & Safety policies and ensuring application of EHS procedures in Belgium ,
Helps develop ing and implement ing the EHS plan on the shopfloor , ensuring the culture is intrinsic within the organization in close collaboration with the Leadership team
Provides advice and guidance to OMT and especially first line leadership on all EHS and legislative issues, ensuring that good and timely business decisions are made.
Identifies and records EHS training needs, along with Line Managers, providing training and development as required on a company, departmental and individual level.
Conduct daily tours of the factory or plant facilities, performing unplanned inspections and safety observations.
Responsible for ensuring Accident Investigation and Reporting requirements are carried out and that appropriate corrective actions are agreed and completed in a timely manner .
Maintain the emergency response plan, making sure it is shared, understood, and effectively applied in case of emergencies
Support and ensure that all kind of risk assessments are carried out as required and that the site acts on any recommendations made to reduce harmful exposures and ensuring implementation of the recommendations.
Coordinate or support the H&S committee meetings on a monthly basis ensuring consistent progress is made towards the actions
Functional knowledge:
Hands-on with great ability to deal with people at all levels of the organization is essential
Proven experience of changing culture in relation to EHS
Experience of delivering training and development
Good up to date knowledge of BE H&S law
Bachelor Level – Master in Health & Sa fety
Good level of PC literacy
Familiarity with safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
