Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.

8 years of experience in software development.

3 years of experience with iOS application development.

3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.

Experience designing complex, scalable software architectures for mobile or spatial computing.

Experience with AI-based development and productivity workflows, and experience rolling out AI-based practices to a team.

Experience building spatial apps, 3D game engines, or other AR/VR experiences.

Applied knowledge of modern UI frameworks like SwiftUI and experience launching high-quality iOS applications.

Direct interactions with OEMs or third-party developers to provide SDKs, reference code and documentation.

XR Human Interface team is a collection of experts in human computer interaction, system experiences, multimodal input, and contextual learning that define how headsets and glasses interfaces evolve. We build applications to help users make the most of spatial computing to bring helpful AI to their lives.

As a Developer Manager in iOS Glasses System Experiences, you will lead a team of Software Developers building the core next-generation user interface for Glasses. Working closely with other developers you will set strategic direction and oversee execution to land novel user experiences that enable users to interact with the world in new and delightful ways.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Canada: $216000 - $222000 (CAD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

Own technical roadmaps by balancing projects with strategic value that anticipate stakeholder needs with launch requirements, applying a data-driven decision making approach.

Ensure launches are delivered on time and at a high degree of quality by building for testability, setting and measuring of KPIs, assisting with complex issue triage, and meeting compliance launch criteria.

Empower the team to build experiences through resource planning and advocacy, technical mentorship, innovative workflow improvements utilizing AI, and architectural oversight.

Manage cross-functional relationships both inside and outside of XR at Google to ensure we deliver the best of Google services.

Create opportunities by cultivating new ideas and through collaboration with HCI researchers and UX designers, then carry these ideas through an iterative R&D process with XR leadership stakeholders in the loop to bring them to life in real products.
