Role Title: HR Consultant

Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Contract: Fixed term

Location: Manchester (hybrid working available)

What will you be doing?

Providing high-quality HR advice and operational support to managers across a range of people matters, including employee relations, change management, absence, and performance management.

Advising managers on policy application and best practice, ensuring decisions are legally compliant, values-led and aligned to British Cycling’s ways of working.

Drafting and reviewing HR documentation, including letters, role profiles, , meeting notes and outcome correspondence.

Working closely with the People Team to progress casework, maintain accurate records and ensure timely follow-up on actions.

Supporting the implementation of people projects linked to organisational change, culture, engagement and workforce planning.

Building trusted relationships with managers and colleagues, offering pragmatic, balanced and commercially aware HR guidance.

Helping to identify opportunities to improve people processes, templates and ways of working so that the People Team continues to provide a clear, consistent and effective service.

What we’re looking for:

Strong generalist HR experience, ideally gained in a complex, changing or fast-paced organisation.

Experience of managing employee relations casework and supporting organisational change.

Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, with the ability to apply this in a practical and proportionate way.

Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and professional documentation.

Confidence in advising and coaching managers, balancing empathy with sound judgement and organisational need.

A collaborative, discreet and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work at pace while maintaining attention to detail.
