Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Cardiology Clinic position in Seattle, WA, requiring at least 1 year of outpatient cardiology triage experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

Outpatient Heart & Vascular Clinic setting in Seattle, WA

Cardiology patient population including those preparing for or recovering from cardiac catheterization, PCI/stent placement, EP procedures, structural heart procedures, cardioversions, and vascular/interventional studies

Ambulatory clinic role focused on triage, symptom assessment, and post-procedure follow-up - not procedural sedation or intra-procedure cath lab nursing

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5x8-hour shifts, 0830–1700

No weekend or on-call requirements

Charting via Epic (experience required)

Requirements

Active WA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 1 year of RN experience in an outpatient cardiology clinic and triage setting required

Previous charge RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Proficiency in arrhythmia interpretation, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, vital signs, medication reconciliation, pain assessment, and patient health history/allergy documentation

Experience with AED, cardiac arrest/CPR, hypertension management, oxygen administration, and altered level of consciousness assessment

Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration

Active RN license must be in hand at time of consideration

Additional Information

Responsibilities include triaging patient calls and messages using clinic protocols, assessing symptoms, reinforcing provider-ordered medication instructions, and escalating urgent concerns such as chest pain, syncope, stroke-like symptoms, uncontrolled bleeding, or signs of vascular access complications

Patient education responsibilities include lifestyle modification and medication adherence counseling

Participation in quality improvement initiatives and follow-up phone calls is expected

Travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Former permanent staff of this health system must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler, and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Candidates who have previously worked within this health system (permanent, travel, or per-diem) must disclose location and dates of employment

Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; no additional RTO will be accommodated after submission
