Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 32-week Interventional Cardiology Outpatient Clinic contract in Seattle, WA, requiring at least 1 year of outpatient cardiology and triage experience along with Epic proficiency.

Outpatient Heart & Vascular Clinic setting

Cardiology patient population that may be preparing for or recovering from procedures such as cardiac catheterization, PCI/stent placement, EP procedures, structural heart procedures, cardioversions, or vascular/interventional studies

Patients are often medically complex and may require assessment of anticoagulation status, medication changes, and post-procedure complications

Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 0830–1700 (5x8-hour shifts)

No weekend or on-call requirements

Charting via Epic (experience required)

Any color scrubs permitted

Requirements

Active WA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 1 year of RN experience in an outpatient cardiology clinic and triage setting

Proficiency in Epic EMR required

Required clinical skills include arrhythmia interpretation, cardiac arrest/CPR, chest pain management, hypertension management, AED use, oxygen administration, vital signs, telephone triage, and patient health questionnaire/history/allergy collection

Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

A minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting are required

Additional Information

Responsibilities include assessing and triaging cardiology patients, providing patient education around lifestyle and medication adherence, and escalating urgently for chest pain, new or worsening shortness of breath, syncope/near-syncope, stroke-like symptoms, uncontrolled bleeding, unstable vitals, or signs of vascular access complications

Travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Former permanent staff of this health system must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler, and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Local and non-local candidates are both accepted for this position
