Position Summary
As a Manager Customer Account, you will lead the customer relationship and business plan for assigned accounts, helping deliver sales, profit, category growth, and market share goals.
You will work closely with customer buyers and internal partners across Sales, Commercial Development, Category Management, Shopper Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales Operations to build plans, solve business challenges, and drive strong execution.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Customer & Business Planning
Own the customer business plan, including distribution, pricing, promotion, placement, category growth, and annual objectives.
Build trusted customer relationships and lead joint planning discussions that support long-term growth.
Sales Execution & Commercial Performance
Deliver sales, profit, market share, and KPI results across assigned customer accounts.
Manage trade plans, promotional funding, budgets, and customer investments in alignment with company guidelines.
Use data, insights, and financial acumen to support customer negotiations and fact-based selling.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate customer, category, shopper, marketplace, and operational insights into plans.
Support shopper programs, digital strategies, new item launches, forecasting, and growth initiatives.
Lead internal and field sales partners through clear priorities, communication, business reviews, and market visits.
Operational Excellence
Manage day-to-day account execution, including forecasting, service issues, deductions, price changes, trade activity, and follow-up.
Communicate business updates, risks, opportunities, and performance results to customer and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
5+ years of relevant sales or customer account experience preferred.
Experience managing sales, profit, trade budgets, promotional funding, and customer investments.
Experience building and executing customer-specific sales, category, promotional, and growth plans.
Required Skills
Strong selling, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.
Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn insights into action.
Ability to influence, negotiate, and build fact-based selling stories for customers and internal partners.
Strong business planning, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage priorities and lead cross-functional work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
The approximate annual pay range for this position is $118,000 to $171,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
