As a Microbiome Fermentation Intern at Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences, your mission is to help strengthen internal capabilities in ex-vivo microbiome fermentation. You will make a difference by collaborating closely with scientists, laboratory specialists, data experts and internal research stakeholders. How you’ll make an impact as a Microbiome Fermentation Intern

Conducting ex-vivo microbiome fermentation experiments to generate reliable insights that support nutrition and health research.

Supporting metagenomic and metabolomic analyses by preparing samples, learning from specialist teams and connecting experimental work with data-driven interpretation.

Improving laboratory procedures and experimental parameters to help build more robust and scalable in vitro gut models.

Presenting your findings through clear reports and stakeholder discussions that translate scientific results into actionable recommendations.

What will make you successful

Current Master student or fresh graduate in microbiology, biotechnology, life sciences or a related field

Bringing hands-on wet laboratory skills, ideally with exposure to microbiology, microbiome research, molecular biology or fermentation methods.

Using digital tools confidently, with curiosity to apply data analysis approaches such as R, Python or similar tools for microbiome and metabolome data.

Being organised, proactive and collaborative, with the ability to plan daily activities, solve problems and communicate clearly with different stakeholders.

Communicating fluently in English in a professional environment.

Demonstrating courage, collaboration, speed and continuous learning.
