About the role

As Postdoctoral Researcher in Big Data for Cardiovascular Population Health, you will play a key role in applying machine learning, health statistics, and large-scale medical and population datasets to improve the understanding and prevention of cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases. You will have the opportunity to conduct data-driven phenotyping, association and causality analyses, and model disease trajectories to identify risk factors and improve disease prediction and prevention.

Responsibilities will include conducting detailed analysis of multi-modal data from the UK Biobank, in addition to developing or tailoring analytical tools and resources. The Postdoctoral Researcher will also prepare manuscripts and presentations, and attend scientific seminars. The postholder will work closely with clinicians, statisticians, UK Biobank scientists, and AI researchers in a multidisciplinary environment.

About you

The successful Postdoctoral Researcher candidate must hold a post-graduate degree in Population Health, Mathematics, Statistics, Computing, or a related subject, alongside demonstrable experience working with large scale datasets. Proficiency in the use of statistical programming languages and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential.

This is a full-time appointment on a fixed-term contract for one year. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be based at the John Radcliffe Hospital site, Oxford, OX3 9DU. We are seeking candidates who are ideally able to start as soon as possible.
