Be part of this ‘once in a generation’ project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity.

The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke.

What you'll be doing

The role is to provide leadership to ensure the effective delivery of the M&T Avonmouth scope as part of the overarching Civils Programme of SZC, whilst recognising and managing the impacts of the programme on the wider Project. The Senior Project Manager role is to develop the strategy for delivering the Marine and Tunnelling scope to cost, schedule and quality within the agreed constraints.

This post has the responsibility to ensure delivery of the procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule at Avonmouth. This includes the tunnel segments, logistics along with the construction of the heads and ramps. This post will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project.

The Senior Project Manager reports directly to Portion Leads and Directors for Marine and Tunnelling and is responsible for the direction and leadership of all activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of the contract or contracts assigned to them.

Who we're looking for

Knowledge & Skills Qualifications & Experience

Track record of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, preferably within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.

Demonstrate success in managing / developing:

Engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery,

Multi-discipline projects,

Procurement and management of complex contracts,

Control of costs; risk; schedule and change and proficient in the use of Earned Value tools,

Close out of commercial claims and the associated negotiations.

Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders.

Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation. Proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming and risk tools.

Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment. Including NEC contracts.

Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, physics or other related field.

Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.

Knowledge and / or practitioner of Project Management with experience of applying either; APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2.

Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, physics or other related field preferred.

Can demonstrate experience of managing project through the project lifecycle from concept to handover.

42 hours per week.
