Building Compliance Manager

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Building Compliance Manager to join our team at Sitari Country Estate in Somerset West.

The award-winning Sitari Country Estate, offers an iconic selection of prestige, premium and luxury apartments, village and country homes, country plots, as well as retirement properties, complete with an exclusive Curro School and lifestyle village centre.

Responsibilities:

Conduct daily inspections of all active building sites within the estate to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Verify that construction, renovation, and maintenance projects adhere to applicable approved building plans, zoning regulations, and agreed guidelines.

Identify potential hazards, safety concerns, and deficiencies in building systems, structures, and equipment, and recommend solutions to mitigate risks.

Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, observations, and recommendations for corrective actions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Work closely with the Estate Manager, Estate Architects, Architectural Review Committee, Property Owners, Building Contractors to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering and/or Architecture, or another closely related field.

Minimum of 5 years residential construction and/or building compliance experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and assertively with stakeholders at all levels.

Thorough knowledge of building codes, regulations and standards.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

An intermediate level of MS Office proficiency.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and assess complex building issues.
