WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Analytical Chemist Intern will be responsible for assisting with executing laboratory analysis that is accurate, reliable and according to the approved specification and methods to support production. The incumbent will also assist with mechanical testing of composite and double base propellants.

KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS:

Supporting with conducting routine and non-routine analysis to support continuous production.

Assist with basic laboratory administration and interaction with plant personnel.

Adherent to quality and safety requirements.

Good housekeeping and responsible waste management.

Support with the calibration and verification of laboratory equipment.

Capable of interpretation of data and sentencing.

Liaise with suppliers when there is equipment breakdown.

Assist in interpretation of results and writing of reports.

Ensure all laboratories comply with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 17025.

Maintain good housekeeping practice.

Ensure all laboratories comply with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and ISO 17025.

Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance with ISO Standards with respect to SHE/ Quality/ Environmental /Energy.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

National Diploma in Chemistry or equivalent qualification.

Must be deadline orientated and be able to multi – task.

Good interpersonal skills and coordinating capability.

Clear security screening record.

Strong analytical skills.

Able to work in a team and independently.

Excellent communication and organising skills.
