Job description
As the Product Owner for Financial Risk Solutions you are responsible for shaping and delivering innovative product solutions in Trade Finance, Foreign Exchange (FX) and Derivative products. You will be the voice of our customer: driving high standards, innovation, and continuous improvement to create brilliant experiences and outcomes across our products and services.
Through analysis and detailed assessments you will consistently check that our products meet the evolving needs of our customers/target markets, our own business goals and continued adherence to our legislative and regulatory commitments.
You will champion a customer-centric approach, using customer insights, market intelligence, and data-driven decision-making to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement in the customer journey.
You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels; build strong partnerships across the organisation and it’s partners; and foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
You will own the vision, strategy and roadmap across the products. This will entail leading the end-to-end transformation agenda for these products: simplifying processes, modernising platforms, and introducing digital capabilities that improve service, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
This is a new role within the Financial Risk Solutions team. It is a specialist area within Business Banking supporting businesses to manage the financial risks associated with their borrowing and international trade.
We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this role, you'll be based at your nearest regional office or hub. We value time spent together to connect with colleagues for collaboration so there will be a regular requirement to attend our Glasgow, Edinburgh or London office site approximately once per quarter . If you are based at an office location, you'll be expected to meet our hybrid working requirement of at least two days a week, or 40% of your working time if part-time, in the office. If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.
Virgin Money is now part of Nationwide
Nationwide acquired Virgin Money in October 2024. Virgin Money continues to serve customers on the high street, and there will be a phased and considered integration over the coming years.
You'll be employed by Nationwide from day one, delivering real impact and benefitting from a highly competitive range of benefits. We're a workplace where you're rewarded, recognised, supported and celebrated.
If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.
What you’ll be doing
You'll take end-to-end ownership of the products offered by the Financial Risk Solutions team, ensuring they continue to deliver value for our business customers through ongoing evaluation, enhancement and innovation.
Using customer feedback, market insight and performance data, you'll identify opportunities to improve products, solve challenges and optimise processes.
As a trusted subject matter expert, you'll communicate product performance and benefits clearly while working closely with stakeholders across Front Office, Operations, Technology, Risk and Compliance to drive change initiatives.
Throughout, you'll champion the voice of the customer, helping to deliver outstanding experiences and continuous improvement across our products and services.
