We are looking for a Hotel Wine Sommelier to join our team!
Job Responsibilities
Curate, maintain, and enhance the hotel's wine list to ensure a diverse and high-quality selection for guests.
Provide expert wine recommendations and pairing advice to guests based on their preferences and dining selections.
Conduct wine service in accordance with luxury hospitality standards, ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
Collaborate with restaurant managers, chefs, and culinary teams to develop food and wine pairing programs.
Monitor wine inventory levels, oversee stock rotation, and ensure proper storage conditions for all wine products.
Work closely with suppliers and distributors to source new wines and negotiate purchases.
Organize and conduct wine tastings, promotions, and educational events for guests and colleagues.
Train and mentor service colleagues on wine knowledge, service techniques, and beverage standards.
Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, food safety requirements, and responsible alcohol service practices.
Analyze wine sales performance and recommend strategies to increase revenue and guest satisfaction.
Job Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sommelier or in a luxury food and beverage environment.
Professional wine certification such as WSET, Certified Sommelier, or equivalent qualification is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of wines, wine regions, grape varieties, vintages, and food pairing principles.
Strong understanding of wine cellar management, inventory control, and beverage cost management.
Excellent guest engagement and communication skills with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Ability to conduct wine training sessions and share knowledge effectively with team members.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and special events as required by operations.
