Manufacturing Supervisor – Tricel Weston
Location: Weston-super-Mare
The Manufacturing Supervisor is a key role within the manufacturing function of the Company. Reporting to the manufacturing manager, the main purpose of the role is control and direct the activity of a team of production personnel; ensuring that the manufacturing of products is carried out efficiently, with strict adherence to H&S and quality standards, the manufacturing schedule and budget costs.
Responsibilities
To take full responsibility of the assigned departments in terms of management of staff, production and quality targets to ensure the smooth running of the production processes.
Line management responsibility for the team including; labour planning, return to work meetings, managing annual leave, team morale, performance reviews, recruitment interviews, incident investigations, documented meetings and disciplinaries; liaising as necessary with HR regarding guidance on ER matters.
Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring that all Health and Safety requirements and procedures are adhered to, including the correct use of PPE, chemical control and appropriate housekeeping standards.
Record, monitor, measure and report on KPI’s, this will include driving performance and accountability through PIT meetings and presenting to management in OEE meetings.
Adherence to Quality Systems through management of the team and processes to deliver agreed product specifications as defined in quality standards and policies
Coordinate production start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers. This may at times include full responsibility for securing the premises.
Ensuring equipment and tooling is maintained and reporting any faults.
Involved in drafting and formatting of Work Instructions; working with relevant personnel to co-ordinate the content. Follow through to document release and training completion
Cross functional collaboration on identified projects/issues is required.
To have an active role in the company’s continuous improvement/lean plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company. This will include taking a leading role in departmental projects and monthly 6S improvements.
To ensure that the training skills are met for current and future demands
Interact with business systems when required (IFS).
This role will be required to act as a First Aider and fire marshall and would therefore be required to undertake the relevant first aid and fire marshall courses.
Secondary out of hours emergency call out point.
Any other duties assigned by management to meet the needs of the business.

Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to take ownership and deliver results

An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Team player along with the ability to work on own initiative.
A strong understanding of the principles and tools of lean manufacturing
Proficient in the use of MS Office tools
Proficient numerical ability to record interpret and analyse key process data
Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Experience in a Manufacturing/Production Supervisory role.
Proven ability to drive change in a continuous improvement environment
