Job Description
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to the current Quality team, with a strong focus on operational quality assurance in production and development.
In this role, you are actively involved on the shopfloor and within projects, ensuring that products, processes, and documentation meet the required standards. You play a key role in inspections, release, non-conformance handling, and continuous improvement.
You will be part of a specialised Quality team (QA Manager + 2 QA Engineers) and work closely with engineering, production, suppliers, and customers (including ESA and primes).
Act as QA focal point on the shopfloor during production, assembly, and testing
Perform keypoint inspections, incoming inspections, and acceptance inspections
Release materials, components, and products for further processing or delivery
Manage and assess non-conformities (NCRs) and deviation reports
Perform root cause analyses (e.g. 8D) and follow up on corrective actions (CAPA)
Support and review change requests and implementation of changes
Contribute to and maintain project quality plans
Execute and follow up on internal and external audits
Support FMECA, reliability analyses, and RAMS-related activities
Ensure proper registration and follow-up of actions and improvements
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (LEAN / Six Sigma mindset)
Support calibration and control of measurement equipment
Qualifications
Technical degree (BSc/MSc – aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or similar)
Experience in operational QA within production or a high-tech environment
Hands-on mindset and comfortable working on the shopfloor
Familiar with ISO9001, EN9100, and preferably ECSS (practical application)
Experience with non-conformance handling and inspections
Knowledge of quality methods such as FMECA / reliability analysis is a plus
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented
Good communication skills; team player
Fluent in English (required); Dutch is a plus
Preferred experience
Experience with inspection, release, and acceptance processes
Supplier quality and incoming inspection
NCR, CAPA, 8D, root cause analysis
Experience in space, aerospace, or high-reliability environments
Familiarity with cleanroom or controlled production environments
Experience with continuous improvement (LEAN / Six Sigma)
