About the role...

Working as a key part of the Chair and Chief Executive’s office the Senior Adviser to the National Housing Bank (NHB) Chair and CEO will play a critical role in ensuring that the Chair and Chief Executive are effectively supported to meet the NHB’s ambitious targets. You will be joining a small but highly skilled team, who are committed to making positive change in how the most senior colleagues at Homes England / NHB are supported day-to-day.

This is a newly created position with a huge opportunity to shape how the NHB, which launched on 1 April 2026 as a new Government Public Financial Institution, can realise it’s ambition to accelerate the delivery of new homes and communities, whilst also enabling the regeneration of towns and cities across England.

The role will work very closely with the NHB’s Chair and Chief Executive ensuring their requests, instructions and priorities are effectively communicated to the bank’s Executive and senior leadership team whilst also ensuring full alignment between the NHB Chair and CEO and the Homes England Chair and CEO working closely with their respective senior advisers and the Head of office.

About you…

You'll possess excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships at all levels of the organisation and be a strong forward planner who is able to project manage. You will also be able to understand, analyse and summarise complex information including financial information quickly and have demonstratable persuasion and negotiation skills.

The role would suit someone with previous experience of working within a private office of a government department / Chief Executive office or central strategic team who has experience of working closely with a Chair, CEO or Executive Directors.
