About the role
Company Description
StrongPoint ALS is a leading provider of grocery retail smart technology solutions for some of the UK's and Europe's largest grocery retailers.
As part of the StrongPoint Group, we deliver nationwide rollouts of innovative retail technology, store transformation projects, and ongoing support services that help retailers create smarter stores, improve customer experiences, and optimise operational performance.
Our team combines technical expertise, project delivery excellence, and customer-focused support to deliver technology solutions at scale across the UK and Ireland.
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and technically minded Junior Solution Expert to join our growing team in Birmingham, on a hybrid basis (minimum 3 days per week in the office, with client and site visits counting towards this). This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is passionate about retail technology, enjoys hands-on problem solving, and wants to develop into a subject-matter expert within a fast-growing business.
Reporting to the Director of Product – UK & Ireland, you will build deep product expertise across a defined subset of StrongPoint's portfolio, supporting the wider Sales and Customer Success teams by joining client calls and meetings where technical product knowledge is needed. A core part of the role involves owning all software configuration for assigned products during proof-of-concept deployments and full roll-outs, working closely with the Solution Expert and implementation teams to deliver a smooth experience from pilot through to go-live.

Join client calls and meetings to provide clear, confident explanations of product capabilities and configuration options
Own all software configuration for assigned products during proof-of-concept deployments and roll-outs
Work closely with the Solution Expert and implementation teams to support a smooth transition from pilot through to live deployment
Prepare and deliver product demonstrations tailored to specific customer contexts, supporting the Sales team in pre-sales engagements
Create, maintain and continuously improve internal documentation, user guides and best-practice materials
Support the delivery of training to customer teams on using StrongPoint solutions effectively
Provide business continuity cover for the Solution Expert role
Feed back product insights, configuration challenges and customer requirements to the Solution Expert and Director of Product
Assist with the completion of RFI and RFP documents when required

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate documentation and user guides
Comfort joining customer calls and meetings, representing the business professionally
Ability to work collaboratively with Sales, Customer Success, Solution Experts and implementation teams
Willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK & Ireland when required
AI literacy, including Co-Work or similar applications
Experience or exposure to retail operations, e-commerce, IT support, software configuration, system setup or testing, and familiarity with store systems such as POS, ERP, WMS or e-commerce platforms is preferred, along with a relevant qualification in a technical, business or retail-related discipline.
