As a Machine Learning Engineer you apply mathematics for high-tech products and machines.
In this role, you use machine learning, mathematics and physics to solve real world problems within a very large variety of markets: warehousing, automotive, machine building, semicon, agro, medical technology and more. By applying the latest scientific insights, you play a guiding role in bringing high-tech solutions to life within the Brainport region and beyond, from creating a live dance show with drones, to optimizing the garbage collection of an entire city.

Applying mathematics, physics and in particular AI and machine learning to solve complex real-world problems
Translating customer needs into analytical problems and practical software solutions
Designing and developing algorithms, models and AI-driven solutions for various high-tech applications
Following and exploring the latest technological developments in your field, e.g. in machine learning and (generative) AI
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and customers to develop innovative solutions
Presenting results to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise
Working alongside passionate colleagues, exchanging ideas and knowledge to learn from each other, and enjoying the process together

This is what you bring to the table
Master’s degree or PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical) or another relevant field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into practical solutions
Experience with developing machine learning models through industrial or academic projects, internships, and/or personal initiatives
Strong programming skills and familiarity with machine learning frameworks and scientific computing tools
Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models and Agentic AI is considered a big plus
Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies and switch between a wide range of high-tech domains
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and engaging way

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the US Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
