Travel: Occasional travel across different sites in Germany & across Europe (likely 4 times a month)

Our client is a leading supplier of temporary power generation and load bank rental solutions supporting some of Europe's largest hyperscale and colocation data centre construction projects. Working alongside the world's leading contractors, commissioning providers and data centre operators, the business delivers critical temporary power infrastructure for testing, commissioning and energisation of mission critical facilities.
Due to continued growth across Germany and Europe, we are seeking an Electrical Applications Engineer to provide technical support, equipment specification and commercial quotations for customers delivering large-scale mission critical projects.
The Role
As an Electrical Applications Engineer, you will become the technical interface between our customers and engineering teams, ensuring every temporary power and load bank solution is correctly specified for each project.
Working closely with Data Centre Contractors, Commissioning Managers, Electrical Project Managers and End Clients, you will assess customer requirements, visit construction sites, prepare technical proposals and provide commercially competitive quotations.
This is a customer-facing engineering position requiring both technical expertise and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engineering Support
Meet customers across Germany and Europe to understand their load bank and temporary power requirements.
Attend project meetings, pre-construction workshops and commissioning planning sessions.
Carry out technical surveys on live construction sites.
Interpret electrical single line diagrams (SLDs), load schedules and power distribution drawings.
Recommend suitable temporary power and load bank equipment based on customer requirements.
Develop complete power solutions for commissioning and energisation activities.
Technical Specification
Calculate electrical loading requirements.
Produce equipment specifications and technical recommendations.
Review customer drawings and identify potential technical risks.
Ensure equipment selections comply with European electrical standards and project requirements.
Commercial Responsibilities
Prepare accurate technical quotations.
Develop cost-effective rental packages.
Liaise with internal operations regarding equipment availability.
Support contract negotiations alongside the sales team.
Maintain quotation records and pipeline opportunities within CRM systems.
Project Support
Coordinate equipment mobilisation to project sites.
Support installation planning with site teams.
Provide technical advice during commissioning activities.
Assist with troubleshooting temporary power systems.
Work closely with logistics, operations and field engineers throughout the rental period.
Client Relationship Management

Skills & Experience
Essential
Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
Experience specifying electrical power systems.
Strong understanding of three-phase power systems.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings and single line diagrams.
Excellent customer communication skills.
Commercial awareness with experience preparing quotations.
Fluent English (and German speaking would be an advantage)
Full EU driving licence.
Willingness to travel throughout Europe.
