Software Test Engineer
About This Role:
The Software Test Engineer will join a highly effective product test team, working side-by-side with developers in an Agile environment, provides testing and automation guidance to product verification teams, working closely with managers, test leads and engineers globally by developing test cases for a wide range of software components, including user interface (GUI), algorithms, and back-end data handling, developing internal tools. The position will also include writing or updating automated tests and executing tests for automation. Our tools include Squish, Qt, Jira, Bitbucket, Jama, Jenkins, and knowledge of Linux environments and workstations.
Key responsibilities:
Design, develop and execute test cases to ensure the quality of the product by providing system functionality, verifying business and user requirements met in the Electrophysiology domain area.
Acting as test lead for projects in determining test methodology, test strategy and test data setup.
Design and develop innovative test automation tools
Leading technical strategies for test automation teams
Execute automated test scripts (Python).
Ensure that tests have been conducted in accordance with written procedures.
Enhance the test automation framework and debug issues discovered in Jenkins builds
Plan the new test cases development for various software releases
Document test results and write test reports.
Diagnose problems and report bugs and enhancements in a bug tracking system.
Provide technical guidelines, share knowledge, and demonstrate product areas to other team members on ad hoc basis.
Participate in regular scrum meetings, product review meetings, and bug triage meetings, etc.
Work closely with the software development team, hardware engineering team, and other cross-functional teams.
What we’re looking for:
Basic Qualifications:
Over 12 years of hands-on experience across the specified skill set.
BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent.
In-depth knowledge of software development life cycle and test methodology.
Test Automation of C++, Qt application.
Strong programming experience in Python is required for developing, maintaining, and enhancing test automation frameworks and scripts. Familiarity with C++ is a plus but not mandatory.
Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and basic troubleshooting skills.
Prior experience in software testing automation for medical device software and systems is preferred.
Hands-on experience with Squish test automation is required.
Good to have experience with Jenkins,Git, JAMA, JIRA, and Bitbucket for source control, requirements management, defect tracking, and collaboration.
Experience with design and development of test automation frameworks.
Experience working in Agile Scrum development environmentss.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Apart from the above qualifications, knowledge of the below areas will be a plus:
Good to have knowledge of AI-powered test analysis tools and techniques to improve test efficiency, result analysis, and defect identification.
Experience with AWS cloud services is a plus. Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and emerging AI technologies applied to software testing is desirable.
